Responsibility.
Sometimes it is easy to just shake off something that you have to do and either procrastinate it or just pretend like it doesn't exist and ignore it all together; child care isn't one of those things, which is part of the reason why I enjoy it. You can't just pretend like the kids don't exist, because they do and they need your attention and your assistance. When you're in the car with them they need you to drive carefully and keep them safe. When you are in charge of a child, whether it be your child or someone else's, suddenly everything shifts and you have the responsibility to keep the child happy, healthy and safe.
